There are many days that shopping is a necessity. You run out of essentials or just have a haul you have got to get done. Here is a helpful list of ideas that may help you shop with little ones and still get the savings you need. First and this is the easy button Tops markets has a program they don't advertise very much. Its the their kids program. You can go to the service desk and pick up 2 circle cards (may not be available in all stores). One is good for a free peice of fruit for kids under 12 the other is a free cookie from the bakery and it also comes with a 1/1 birthday cake coupon for the Tops bakery on the back. If for some reason your store doesnt have the cards let me know and I will get you some just fill out the contact form below with your address and how many you need for your kids. below are some other ideas I have used to keep my little ones happy in store
UPDATE SOME STORES NOW HAVE A BIN TO SELECT A FREE FRUIT FROM AS OPPOSED TO THE CARD .
1) get a pound of a sandwich meat cut they have on sale at the deli. Once they hand you the package give your child a piece its perfectly ok the price is allready attached to the bag. Same goes with the bulk foods section just weigh it first and attach the sticker label to the bag then it makes no difference if your child munches it in the store.
2) If you dont like the food ideas a game I have my older ones play is coupon finder. They watch for smart source blinkie machines and get 1 coupon each of each one and when we leave they count them (and I get 2 or 3 of every coupon )
3) If they are old enough looking for items or counting things into the cart works well too.
4) For infants I found using a baby bottle warmer car adapter let me bring a warm bottle and also at a bit older the cart cozy is a great thing to have. Also with car seats there is a variety of toys that attach to the seat or that can attach to the hooded part that baby may like to look at.
Have any tricks of your own please share so I can add them to the list!!
