UPCOMING CHANGES TO TOPS GAS POINTS STARTING 3/20

I hate posting things I dont like but this is what it is ... Tops for safety reasons and to further reinforce only ONE vehicle/tank is to be filled per trip is starting 3/20 by lowering the amount of gallons per point redemption to 25 gallons rather then 30 gallons. I was told about this change by my sources in store today and wanted to let everyone know. I am not sure if that is really why they lowered it or not but that is what corporate has handed down as a reason. This means that 200 gas points will starting next earning period will be worth $5 in gas savings in NY when you get all 25 as opposed to $6 in savings that it has been when you were able to get 30 in PA it will be $10 in savings on 25 gallons as opposed to the $12 when you could get 30 . THESE CHANGES START NEXT PROMO 3/20 NOT FOR POINTS YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW all points have to be redeemed by saturday too as a reminder.
Pretty much the wrap up is everything is the same just when you go to use your points you can only get 25 gallons per discounted fill up

This change appears to be more about money. I can see where filling more than 1 car at a time may be an issue, but if can go at any time and fill a gallon or 5 gallon container( which you can purchase there} and fill it as with any gas station. I do not see an issue with putting 15 gallons in my car and filling 3 5 gallon gas cans as I have always done. If safety were the primary reason they wouldn't have lowered the amount. This campaign I earned 210 gallons for free with a $0.40 overage left I am certain this hurts tops bottom line. I will post how next experience goes.

That once again is nothing but corporate greed ! Every dollar they cut is more money in their pocket! Nothing lasts forever! They do it bcuz they can.

Tops charges more for gas than any other station in their neighborhoods to start with; so they are not saving you as much as they say they are. They are at minimum five cents more than anyone else.If anyone knows what a lost leader is: this is a good example.
